JOHN D. MAAS
Mr. Maas joined Seizert Capital Partners, L.L.C. in January 2001. He serves
as the Director of Institutional Marketing, concentrating on Taft-Hartley plans.
Mr. Maas has served the Greater Detroit Chapter of The Associated General Contractors
of America (AGC) and the Michigan construction industry with distinction for 33
years. Mr. Maas joined the AGC, Greater Detroit Chapter in 1967 and was appointed
Secretary and Executive Director in 1979. In addition to implementing policies
established by the association’s Board of Directors, he directed a staff
of specialists on a wide variety of building and industry related matters. These
include labor relations, industry relations, tax and insurance, legislation, equal
employment opportunity and affirmative action. Prior to joining the AGC, Mr. Maas
was affiliated with the Construction Association of Michigan where he was involved
in identifying proposed legislation having an impact on the construction industry.
Mr. Maas served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division from 1952 to 1954.
Following his military service, he attended the University of Michigan and Wayne
State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree. Mr. Maas has served
in leadership roles at the Detroit Works Partnership, Detroit Regional Chamber
and its Southeastern Michigan partnership, and on several business roundtables
in Oakland and Wayne Counties. His professional affiliations include: Engineering
Society of Detroit, American Society of Association Executives, Michigan Construction
Industry Joint Legislative Council, New Detroit Employment/Action Committee, General
Advisory Committee/Detroit Area Vocational Training Centers, Detroit Regional
Chamber and the Oakland/Livingston Human Service Agency.
